Ok Reformed Charismatic is about defending the faith as apologetic and polemic resource also.
Apologetics is a resource that can help defend and declare the faith we find to be true as we walk in the Light we have. polemics is used to argue against the truth claims of another. It is to give a reasonable, rational defense of why you believe ideas held by others as true are in fact not true. It is to tear down the false truth claims of someone or something else.
I suggest become apart of are forum on face book if you have the time to be apart of social media. Reformed Charismatic. There is about a dozen forums in that social media who are swinging towards views that fly against the majority of most Calvinist ,Pentecostals and Charismatic people. Were a movement spoke by some prophetically in a prophecy called Word and Spirit revival by Smith Wigglesworth and R.T Kendall. I suggest the writings of R.T Kendall contemporary Reformed or Calvinist Theologian who is Charismatic. His book Holy Fire is worth a read that is a defense to the Strange Fire Conference. We tho have historic roots in church history going back to scripture and early church history as Augustine was a Sovereignty teacher and Continuist before his death. Unfortunately many ignore his views before he died.

Reasonable understanding among the Continuist the Biblical Charismatics and Cessationist.
October 2, 2014 at 2:14pm Ok this is were I am as a Christian first and seasoned minister secondly.
I think we have a definition barrier in conversations and in research on the more spectacular Spiritual manifestations in Christianity. And on how we define terms to describe what we might call spirituals or gifts. I feel we have many things here that seem to be in common note among the whole Evangelical Church universally. We stand on the Bible Alone and the Doctrines of the Grace as Born again Believers in the name of Jesus. The work of Holy Spirit is to baptize us into Jesus and then Jesus gives power to talk about who he is. This is based on Acts 1:8 and 1 Corinthians 12:1-3.The Gospel is man is a sinner in need of Jesus alone for salvation Romans chapter 3-5 deals with this emphatically. Judaizing, lawlessness and Gnosticism is the enemies of the Cross Galatians chapter 1-2 and 1 John chapter 1-2 !!! Jesus said it is Finished John 19:30 and Hebrews tells us all about the Dynamic New Covenant.
I feel Reformed thinking or non reformed thinking who are in cessationism to some degree agree on a lot with us who are Biblical Charismatics despite differences.
The classic cessationist and soft would say I have impressions or inclinations and it could be Holy Spirit leading me.A Biblical Charismatic or Continuist would say this could be words of knowledge or words of wisdom depending on how or what transpires with these impressions or inclinations. This gives us common understanding on how possibly Holy Spirit is speaking to the people of God outside of scripture. Tho the general way God speaks is the scriptures.
Cessationist sometimes would state I have dreams and visions but call this Gods providence and other terms.
The Biblical Charismatic says this is prophecy.
Common ideas about Healing and Miracles among the whole Evangelical Church.
The soft Cessationist position would happen to say in Gods providence or Sovereign plan at times God does heal to his glory James 5:13-15.
Biblical Charismatic would say the gifts of healing's and miracles can be ministered and manifested in this act of obedience to the Bible.I find this stuff puts us in agreement technically speaking. Since the gifts of healing's and miracle's are given to the elders in the local church at the time the oil is applied to pray for the person who being anointed. This is the proper order in the local church for the gifts of healing's and miracle's to take place in the norm. But at times God does do things differently such as in a praise and worship service God can touch a person without another person while they are singing, lifting hands or dancing to the Lord or when any other action takes place.
The fundamental difference of understanding is the Cessationist position says that Prophecy and Tongues is predictive and is always a Language to preach the Gospel and such. I would scripturally debate this is not as accurate tho it does happen at times in the Bible.
Biblical Charismatic answer. This is why because the function of tongues is estatic praise and worship from a unction of prayer brought about by the work of Holy Spirit but at same time in the context of the Corinthians could be interpreted in a message Romans 8:26-28,Jude 20,1 Corinthians 13:1,14:1-5,14-18,Acts 10.In Acts 2 they did not need humans to interpret but in Corinth they did because it was not a Language for preaching as in Acts 2.
Note some in cessationist position believe prophecy is proclamation not telling the future yet others teach different on this issue. Prophecy is forth-telling and for-telling in a Biblical Charismatic view based on the scriptures. So preaching is one form of prophecy today as the Bible rightly says it is. Testing prophecy is weighed by both views by Scriptures.
The Cessationist position will say you have to go by the Old Testament view of the Prophet being tested since they believe the Prophets only Prophecy in that view it seems. Note not all who hold or teach within the cessationist view believe that all prophecy mentioned was scripture tho this is the minority view among that position.
Biblical Charismatic answer in the New testament there is prophecy that is not scripture given by ordinary people who prophecy or called prophets which leads us to believe in the idea of what Paul is saying keep the good and throw out the bad.
So the Cessationist position usually believes in 7 gifts manifested by the Holy Spirit today and are opposed to the spectacular signs and wonders that make us wonder about Jesus based on 1 Corinthians 13.Biblical Charismatics have numerous list. I personally hold to 25 mentioned in the New Covenant.
Bible normally render the word apostolos in the two instances above as “messenger” or “representative.”
The historical accounts in the New Testament affirm these complementary roles of prophetic people. New Testament prophets
first appeared by name in Acts when a group, apparently residing in Jerusalem, went to Antioch and one of their number,Agabus, accurately predicted the coming great famine (Acts 11:27–30). Antioch soon had its own group of resident prophets—Barnabas,Simeon, Lucius, Manaen, and Saul (Paul) (Acts 13:1). Twoother Jerusalem leaders and prophets were chosen to bear the council letter to Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia, and along the way “said much to encourage and strengthen the brothers” (Acts 15:22,32). On Paul’s returnto Jerusalem after the third missionary journey, he stayed at the house of Philip the evangelist, who “had four unmarried daughters who prophesied,” and we learn women were active and recognized as prophets. At that time Agabus made his way down from Jerusalem to Caesarea and prophesied that the Jews of Jerusalem would bind Paul and hand him over to the Gentiles (Acts 21:10,11). Paul’s letters, written earlier than the Book of Acts, indicate the presence of prophets in the churches hehad established as well as those he did not (e.g., the church at Rome). For example, he provided instruction on their activities in Corinth (1 Corinthians 14:29–32), saying their prophecies were to be tested byapostolic doctrine (1 Corinthians 14:37). Women prophets were active in the church at Corinth (1 Corinthians 11:5,6). The Romans were to exercise the gift of prophecy “in proportion” to their faith (Romans 12:6). The Thessalonians were cautioned not to “treat prophecies with contempt” (1Thessalonians 5:20). The Ephesians letter stated Paul’s understanding that, with the apostles, the prophets were foundational to the church (Ephesians 2:20). In that capacity they were, with the apostles, recipients of divinely given revelation (Ephesians 3:5) and a ministry gift to the church (Ephesians 4:11). To Timothy, Paul noted a prophetic message had accompanied the laying on of hands by the elders (1 Timothy 4:14.)
Note a question to ponder do we worship the Book over the one who inspired it?Note the Bible is the General way which God speaks to us today and is the foundation. But God does speak to us specifically in dreams, visions, inclinations, unctions, desires, feelings and the inner voice are conscience. He speaks in circumstances also. These descriptions are mentioned in the Bible and taught by many respected Bible teachers.
John 16:7-9New Living Translation (NLT)7 But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. 8 And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. 9 The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me.
John 4:24 God is Spirit and we must worship Him and in truth. We should not divorce the Bible from the marvelous work of Holy Spirit who is Lord.1 Corinthians 2: 12-13 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
We worship the Father ,Son and Holy Spirit the true God revealed 1 John 5:7 Three bear record. Which means we follow the Spirit of thee Book.
Apologetics is a resource that can help defend and declare the faith we find to be true as we walk in the Light we have. polemics is used to argue against the truth claims of another.
